Associate Director of Product Classification

Job Summary

Leading operational initiatives, the full-time Associate Director of Product Classification will manage a team focused on accurately categorizing products within datasets, ensuring accountability and quality, while fostering cross-functional partnerships in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own operational leadership and accountability for the Product Classification organization, establishing performance standards and metrics for classification accuracy
• Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing classification team, creating onboarding programs and knowledge bases to enhance team effectiveness
• Build and maintain a culture of operational excellence, empowering team members to deeply understand client needs and product categorization

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data analytics, data operations, category mapping, or consulting, with at least 4+ years in leadership roles
• 2+ years of experience with SQL, Python, PySpark, or similar programming languages for data transformation
• Proven track record of developing training programs and building effective teams
• Strong operational excellence mindset with the ability to create scalable systems and processes
• Experience in data and classification domains, particularly with product taxonomies or e-commerce data, is preferred
