Associate Editor

Job Summary

Seeking a passionate and growth-oriented Associate Editor, the full-time remote position will oversee editorial operations, including editing and publishing content, managing the newsfeed, and enhancing audience engagement metrics.

Key responsibilities

• Assign and edit 2-5 feature and editorial pieces weekly, collaborating with external contributors
• Sourcing and publishing approximately 30 pieces of urban planning news weekly for the newsfeed
• Utilize analytics to optimize editorial content performance and contribute to new content ideation

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a newsroom or editorial environment, with experience managing contributors
• Strong judgment and critical thinking skills with the ability to maintain editorial quality under tight deadlines
• Familiarity with Google Workspace, Google Analytics, and content management systems like Drupal
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Demonstrated interest in urban planning and ability to quickly become knowledgeable in the field
