Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Associate Editor, Black News, who will write, edit, and publish a high volume of news and culture content daily while collaborating with editorial, audio, and social teams in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Write, edit, and publish news and culture content, ensuring accuracy and clarity under tight deadlines
• Collaborate with teams to provide cohesive coverage across platforms and participate in real-time reporting during breaking news
• Identify and elevate emerging stories relevant to Black audiences, optimizing content for web and social distribution

Required qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in digital journalism, web producing, or content creation
• Proven experience writing and editing online content, including articles and social media copy
• Familiarity with CMS publishing tools and basic image editing software
• Working knowledge of SEO, tagging, and content optimization best practices
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field preferred, but strong experience is acceptable
