Associate General Counsel, Regulatory
Job Summary
As a full-time Associate General Counsel, Regulatory, the successful candidate will own the legal and regulatory framework for Mews' SaaS and fintech products, working closely with product and engineering teams to address legal issues proactively throughout the product lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Own the Product & Regulatory legal remit, setting priorities and quality standards for legal support to Product and Engineering
- Embed with Product and Engineering teams to surface and resolve legal, regulatory, and commercial trade-offs early in the release lifecycle
- Build and manage a specialist team of counsel and paralegals, developing playbooks and processes to enhance legal support efficiency
Required qualifications
- Significant in-house legal experience in technology, SaaS, or fintech, with a strong focus on product collaboration
- Strong exposure to fintech regulations, particularly in payments and embedded finance
- Working knowledge of financial-crime regulations (AML, BSA, KYC, KYB) as they apply to product decisions
- Demonstrated experience in people leadership, ideally managing legal teams
- AI Fluency Level 3 or equivalent hands-on experience in utilizing AI for legal processes
