Associate Meteorologist

Job Summary

To support forecasting and weather analysis efforts, the remote Associate Meteorologist will create customized forecasts under supervision, improve forecasting processes, and provide timely weather consultation while working a balanced, rotating schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Create customized forecasts and provide weather consultation to clients
• Continuously improve forecasting techniques and increase efficiency and timeliness of forecasts
• Develop proficiency with meteorological tools and monitor weather for timely notifications

Required qualifications

• B.S. in Meteorology or equivalent in atmospheric sciences
• 1 year or less of operational forecast experience, including internships
• In-depth experience using numerical prediction models for forecasting
• Basic understanding of NWS data, products, and tools
• Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
