Associate Underwriter

Job Summary

To support a growing Underwriting team, the full-time remote Associate Underwriter will assist in evaluating and pricing health insurance plans for small to mid-sized employer groups while managing a caseload and collaborating with internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Learn and apply underwriting tools, guidelines, and rating methodologies
• Manage a caseload to meet performance expectations for turnaround time, productivity, accuracy, and pricing integrity
• Prepare initial rate quotes and renewals under supervision, while explaining pricing and product offerings to sales and account management

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Insurance, or related field
• 0-2 years of underwriting experience, preferably in health insurance or employee benefits
• Exposure to level-funded or self-funded insurance products
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic math knowledge and understanding
