Associate Underwriter - Ohio

Job Summary

Utilizing basic underwriting techniques, the full-time Associate Underwriter - Ohio will evaluate and price new business and renewal applications remotely, ensuring compliance with corporate guidelines and supporting team goals for profitable business writing.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine selection, evaluation, and pricing of assigned risks for commercial insurance policies
• Review new and renewal business requests to determine acceptability based on established rules and guidelines
• Process endorsements, cancellations, and reissues of policies while maintaining accurate account servicing

Required qualifications

• High school diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Two years' experience in a professional business or insurance environment preferred
• Previous commercial lines underwriting experience is a plus
• Working knowledge of underwriting principles and state-specific laws
• Proficiency in Excel and ability to multi-task effectively
