Job Summary

A company is looking for an Atmospheric Radiative Transfer Scientist to develop and maintain instrument simulator software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of the instrument simulator software and adapt it to new datasets and spectral bands
  • Collaborate with the instrument science team to enhance data products and validation processes
  • Lead instrument trade studies for the next generation of satellites and participate in on-call rotations
Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in atmospheric science, physics, or a related field
  • Direct experience with atmospheric radiative transfer model software packages (e.g., CRTM, RTTOV, ARTS)
  • Experience with cloud-based environments (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) or high-performance computing clusters
  • Willingness to adapt to new coding technologies and machine learning applications
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate on cross-disciplinary teams and manage competing priorities
