Audio Consultant Engineer

Job Summary

To support the development of embedded Linux audio systems, the full-time Audio Consultant Engineer will work remotely, contributing to upstream communities, designing audio architectures, and collaborating directly with customers to implement and debug audio stacks.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to and collaborate with WirePlumber, PipeWire, and ALSA upstream communities
• Design, integrate, and ship embedded Linux audio systems that function reliably in real-world products
• Work directly with customer teams to translate requirements into robust audio architectures and solutions

Required qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with the Linux audio stack (PipeWire, WirePlumber, ALSA)
• Proficiency in C and systems-level programming
• Solid understanding of core audio concepts such as latency, formats, and synchronization
• Proven ability to debug complex issues across multiple layers of a Linux system
• Experience working directly with customers in a consulting or support capacity
