Audio Description Specialist
Job Summary
To support public-sector digital accessibility programs, the part-time Audio Description Specialist will produce Extended Audio Description for educational and informational video content, collaborating with the web accessibility team on WCAG 2.1 Level AA remediation engagements.
Key responsibilities
- Write audio description scripts focusing on instructional content for recorded videos
- Produce Extended Audio Description to fill gaps in standard descriptions
- Record and edit audio description tracks to ensure broadcast-quality output
Required qualifications
- Demonstrable audio description experience with a portfolio or work samples
- Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 Success Criteria 1.2.3, 1.2.5, and 1.2.7
- Familiarity with recognized description standards such as the DCMP Description Key
- Proficiency with audio editing software like Adobe Audition or Audacity
- Clear and well-paced recorded voice suitable for instructional content
