Authorization Associate

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Authorization Associate 1 to work remotely in the Patient Access Business Office.

Key Responsibilities

• Request, follow-up, obtain, and validate authorizations/referrals/notifications using appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes
• Coordinate patient flow and maintain knowledge of departmental practices to address patient inquiries
• Meet individual quality metrics in a call center environment while providing compassionate service

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 1 year experience in validating/obtaining authorizations with insurance payers
• Completion and passing of the Patient Access training course
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and perform basic mathematical calculations
• Knowledge of medical and insurance terminology is desired
