Authorization Benefit Specialist

Job Summary

To support the authorization process for outpatient procedures, the part-time hourly Authorization Benefit Specialist II will ensure pre-certification to avoid reimbursement issues while providing excellent service to physicians in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Pre-certify scheduled outpatient procedures to prevent negative reimbursements and patient penalties
• Communicate professionally and courteously with physicians regarding authorization needs
• Manage multiple tasks effectively while performing basic math calculations as required

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required
• Two to four years of experience in a physician's office, hospital registration, or medical billing
• Training in medical billing from an educational institution is acceptable
