Authorization Specialist

Job Summary

Submitting initial authorization requests to assigned payers, the full-time Authorization Specialist will manage follow-ups, ensure timely approvals, and maintain communication with patients and insurance plans in a hybrid remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Submit authorization requests for Home Infusion Therapy to insurance payers
• Oversee follow-up on pending authorizations and review approvals and denials for accuracy
• Document all communications and maintain records of authorizations in patients' charts

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a medical office with patient contact and authorization submission
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Medical reimbursement background preferred
• Knowledge of insurance plan requirements and medical terminology
