Authorization Specialist

Job Summary

Supporting the prior authorization process, the full-time remote Authorization Specialist will manage authorization requests, perform data entry, and assist the utilization management team in documenting healthcare eligibility and access for members.

Key responsibilities

• Supports authorization requests for services in line with the insurance prior authorization list
• Maintains and updates authorization requests in the utilization management system through data entry
• Documents necessary medical information for the authorization review process and assists with tracking authorizations and referrals

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• Entry-level position with little or no previous experience needed
• Understanding of medical terminology and insurance preferred
