Authorization Specialist - New Jersey

Job Summary

To support the Revenue Cycle Department, the full-time remote Authorization Specialist - New Jersey will be responsible for obtaining authorizations for surgical procedures, diagnostic testing, medications, and referrals while demonstrating a strong understanding of medical insurance and clinical policies.

Key responsibilities

• Identifies appointments and procedures requiring authorization by monitoring schedules and system reports
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits, updating patient information as necessary
• Communicates effectively with patients and healthcare staff to resolve issues related to authorization requests

Required qualifications

• High School Graduate/GED required; vocational/technical school preferred
• 2-4 years of related experience preferred
• Experience with standard office equipment and technology in a Windows-based environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Expertise in insurance benefit terms and processes
