Authorization Specialist - New Jersey

Job Summary

To support a growing dermatology practice, the full-time Authorization Specialist - New Jersey will obtain authorizations for surgical procedures, diagnostic testing, and medications while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor schedules and system reports to identify appointments and procedures requiring authorization
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits while completing referrals and prior authorizations in a timely manner
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and office staff to resolve authorization issues

Required qualifications

• High School Graduate/GED required; vocational/technical school preferred
• 2-4 years of related experience preferred
• Experience with standard office equipment and Microsoft Office Suite required
• Knowledge of insurance carrier guidelines and clinical policies
• Expertise in managing authorizations and denials within electronic systems
