Authorizations Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Authorizations Specialist.

Key Responsibilities:

• Obtaining required referrals and authorizations prior to services
• Reviewing office schedules daily for authorization needs
• Coordinating insurance verification needs and updating patient accounts

Required Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• 1-3 years of healthcare work experience in insurance verification/authorizations
• Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9, and CPT codes
• Strong understanding of healthcare plan terminology and benefits
• Experience with Medical Manager or other practice management system preferred
