Automation Engineer

Job Summary

To support key helpdesk initiatives, the remote contract Automation Engineer will redesign and replace an existing Slack-based helpdesk automation product while developing AI agents, optimizing workflows, and integrating enterprise applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI agents and chatbots to automate internal workflows and customer interactions
• Develop and maintain automated workflows and integrations across ITSM platforms to enhance service delivery
• Collaborate with stakeholders to lead the ideation and scaling of AI-driven automation solutions into production systems

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in IT engineering, automation engineering, ITSM, or software development
• Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript/Node.js
• Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Jira Service Management
• Proficiency in automation platforms like Workato or n8n
• Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants, such as Claude Code
