AWS Cloud Data Engineer

Job Summary

To support data infrastructure initiatives, the remote contract AWS Cloud Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines within AWS cloud environments while collaborating with cross-functional teams to migrate data from legacy applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data pipelines and processing solutions in AWS
• Develop ETL/ELT workflows for data ingestion, transformation, and loading into data lakes and warehouses
• Establish data quality checks and governance controls to ensure compliance with data retention and security requirements

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 6 years of data engineering experience, with at least 3 years in AWS cloud environments
• Strong experience with AWS data services such as S3, Glue, Athena, and Redshift
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java for data processing and pipeline development
• Experience with SQL and relational databases like PostgreSQL or Oracle
