Job Summary
To support a Department of Defense data modernization effort, the full-time AWS Cloud Data Engineer will design, implement, and validate cloud-native data ingestion and persistence pipelines while operating primarily in AWS GovCloud and requiring an active DoD Secret clearance.
Key responsibilities
- Design and maintain data ingestion paths for various data streams from DoD sources into an S3-backed landing zone
- Support relational database selection and configuration aligned with multi-tenant data isolation requirements
- Coordinate with security teams on encryption, access policies, and ATO/ICA documentation activities
Required qualifications
- Active Secret clearance
- 4+ years of hands-on AWS cloud engineering experience, particularly in AWS GovCloud environments
- Proficiency with AWS data services including S3, Lambda, AWS Glue, and RDS/Aurora
- Experience designing data ingestion pipelines for structured files and APIs
- Familiarity with relational database design and cloud backup configuration
