AWS Cloud Database Administrator

Job Summary

To support a growing team, the remote contract AWS Cloud Database Administrator will design, deploy, and manage secure and scalable database solutions in AWS while administering various AWS-managed database services and optimizing performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and manage highly available database solutions, ensuring security and scalability
• Administer AWS database services and implement strategies for high availability, backup, and disaster recovery
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot database issues and support ongoing data operations

Required qualifications

• U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status with the ability to obtain a public trust clearance
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 6 years of DBA experience in AWS cloud environments
• Hands-on experience with AWS database services, including RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB
• Strong SQL skills and experience with database migration and replication tools
