AWS Cloud Database Administrator

Job Summary

To support a long-term project, the AWS Cloud Database Administrator will design, deploy, and manage secure and scalable database solutions in AWS while working remotely on a contract basis.

Key responsibilities

• Administer AWS-managed database services and implement strategies for high availability, replication, and disaster recovery
• Migrate on-premises databases to AWS and optimize database performance through query tuning and workload optimization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate database operations into CI/CD pipelines and troubleshoot complex database issues

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field; or equivalent experience
• Minimum 6 years of DBA experience supporting AWS cloud environments
• Hands-on experience with AWS database services including RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB
• Strong SQL skills and experience with database migration and replication tools
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
