AWS Cloud Database Administrator

Job Summary

To support database operations in a remote long-term contract role, the AWS Cloud Database Administrator will design, deploy, and manage highly available and secure database solutions in AWS, while ensuring optimal performance and compliance with security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage AWS database solutions, including RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB
• Monitor and optimize database performance, implementing strategies for high availability and disaster recovery
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate database operations into CI/CD pipelines and troubleshoot complex issues

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 6 years of DBA experience supporting AWS cloud environments
• Hands-on experience with AWS database services and migration tools
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and NoSQL database platforms
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
