AWS Cloud Database Administrator

Job Summary

To support a long-term contract, the remote AWS Cloud Database Administrator will design, deploy, and manage scalable database solutions in AWS while administering AWS-managed database services and optimizing performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and manage highly available database solutions in AWS, including Amazon RDS and DynamoDB
• Implement strategies for high availability, backup, restore, and disaster recovery
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot database issues and support ongoing data operations

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 6 years of DBA experience in AWS cloud environments
• Hands-on experience with AWS database services, including RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL
• Strong SQL skills and experience with database migration and replication tools
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
