AWS Cloud Engineer

Job Summary

To support cloud infrastructure initiatives, the AWS Cloud Engineer will work remotely on a 3-6 month contract, focusing on designing cloud application and security architectures, ensuring compliance with IT security policies, and collaborating with IT staff and management to implement cloud hosting services.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design, build, implement, and support new and existing cloud hosting services in collaboration with IT staff and vendors
• Build tools and automation to enhance availability, scalability, and efficiency while monitoring production and development environments
• Document solutions and work across teams to ensure consistent and reliable implementations while adhering to configuration and change management policies

Required qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of IT principles, including infrastructure support and application development techniques
• Excellent understanding of cloud computing technologies and AWS services such as ALB, EC2, ECS, and S3
• Strong experience in developing Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation templates
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues in mixed on-prem and AWS environments
• Experience with enterprise network infrastructure design concepts and cloud migration solutions
