AWS Cloud Security Engineer

Job Summary

Supporting a large-scale cloud modernization effort for a federal client, the contract AWS Cloud Security Engineer will focus on securing AWS environments, automating compliance controls, and collaborating with engineering teams to ensure secure application delivery in a remote capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across AWS cloud environments
• Automate security controls and compliance checks using Infrastructure as Code tools
• Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and support secure build and deployment processes

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in cloud security and AWS security
• Strong hands-on knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3, and IAM
• Experience with tools for CI/CD automation and deployment, such as GitHub Actions and Terraform
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
