AWS Cloud Security Engineer

Job Summary

Supporting a large-scale cloud modernization effort for a federal client, the remote contract AWS Cloud Security Engineer will design and implement security controls across AWS environments, automate compliance checks, and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure secure application delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across AWS cloud environments
• Automate security controls and compliance checks using Infrastructure as Code tools
• Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and support secure build and deployment processes

Required qualifications

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in cloud security and AWS security
• Strong hands-on knowledge of AWS services, including IAM, KMS, and CloudTrail
• Experience automating security or compliance workflows using scripting languages such as Python or Bash
