AWS Cloud Security Engineer

Job Summary

Supporting a large-scale cloud modernization effort for a federal client, the contract AWS Cloud Security Engineer will secure AWS environments, automate compliance controls, and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure secure application delivery in a remote capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across AWS cloud environments
• Automate security controls and compliance checks using Infrastructure as Code tools
• Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and support secure build, deployment, and release processes

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, engineering, or a related field, or four additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in cloud security, cybersecurity, and AWS security
• Strong hands-on knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, IAM, and CloudTrail
• Experience supporting secure CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Hands-on experience with tools like GitHub Actions, Terraform, and Docker
