AWS Data Engineer

Job Summary

To lead the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time remote Senior Systems Engineer (AWS Data Engineer) will architect and implement a scalable AWS data architecture, evaluate data strategies, and optimize query performance for business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the transition from a Microsoft SQL XML object store to a cloud-native AWS data architecture
• Design and build reporting layers that enable non-technical users to run SQL queries against healthcare data
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and apply Infrastructure as Code practices using AWS-native tools

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
• Proven experience in architecting cloud data platform migrations in production environments
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, and Redshift
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with XML-heavy data stores
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
