AWS Data Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time AWS Data Engineer will implement a scalable, cloud-native AWS architecture, optimize query performance, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into effective data models, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the transition from a Microsoft SQL XML object store to a cloud-native AWS data architecture
• Design and build reporting layers that enable non-technical users to perform SQL queries on healthcare data
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and apply Infrastructure as Code practices for data infrastructure using AWS-native tools

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
• Proven experience in architecting cloud data platform migrations in enterprise or healthcare environments
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, Aurora, and Redshift
• Strong SQL skills with experience in designing relational query layers over semi-structured data
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
