AWS Data Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (AWS Data Engineer) will implement a scalable cloud-native AWS architecture, optimize data storage and query performance, and collaborate with business stakeholders to meet reporting requirements in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and execute the migration of XML object store data to AWS, defining storage formats and optimizing query performance
• Design and build a reporting layer for non-technical users to run SQL queries against healthcare data
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code practices using AWS-native tooling

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
• Proven experience in architecting cloud data platform migrations in enterprise or healthcare environments
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, and Redshift
• Strong SQL skills with experience in designing relational query layers over semi-structured data
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
