AWS Data Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time remote Senior Systems Engineer (AWS Data Engineer) will architect and implement a scalable, cloud-native AWS data architecture while collaborating with stakeholders to optimize data reporting and query performance.

Key responsibilities

• Architect the migration of XML object store data from MSSQL to AWS, defining storage formats and optimizing query performance
• Design and build reporting layers for non-technical users to run SQL queries against healthcare data
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using AWS-native tooling

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
• Proven experience in architecting cloud data platform migrations in production environments
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, and Redshift
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong SQL skills with the ability to design relational query layers over semi-structured data
