AWS Data Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (AWS Data Engineer) will implement a scalable, cloud-native AWS architecture, optimize data storage and query performance, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless data access and reporting in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and execute the migration of XML object store data to AWS, defining storage formats and query strategies
• Design and build reporting layers for non-technical users to run SQL queries on healthcare data
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and apply Infrastructure as Code practices for data infrastructure management

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
• Proven experience in cloud data platform migrations within enterprise or healthcare environments
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, and Redshift
• Strong SQL skills, particularly with semi-structured or non-relational data formats like XML and JSON
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
