AWS Data Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (AWS Data Engineer) will implement a scalable, cloud-native AWS data architecture, optimize data storage and query performance, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into effective data models, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the transition from a Microsoft SQL XML object store to a cloud-native AWS data architecture
• Design and build the reporting and query layer for non-technical users to access healthcare data
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and apply Infrastructure as Code practices for data infrastructure management

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
• Proven experience in architecting and executing cloud data platform migrations in production environments
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, and Redshift
• Strong SQL skills for designing relational query layers over semi-structured data
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
