AWS Data Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (AWS Data Engineer) will implement a scalable, cloud-native AWS data architecture, enabling seamless SQL-based reporting and queries for business stakeholders, while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and execute the migration of XML object store data from MSSQL to AWS, defining storage formats and optimizing query performance
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into efficient data models and query patterns
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure using AWS-native tools and apply Infrastructure as Code practices

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
• Proven experience in architecting cloud data platform migrations in production environments
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, and Redshift
• Strong SQL skills with experience in designing relational query layers over semi-structured data
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
