AWS Data Engineer

Job Summary

To support data migration and processing solutions, the remote contract AWS Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain data pipelines in the AWS cloud environment, collaborating with database administrators and stakeholders to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data pipelines using AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, and Kinesis
• Architect and maintain data lakes and warehouses, optimizing data storage formats and access patterns
• Develop automated data quality checks and implement data governance policies to ensure compliance and security

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3+ years in AWS cloud environments
• Strong expertise in AWS data services, including S3, Glue, Redshift, and Kinesis
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Java for data processing
• Experience with SQL and knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
