AWS Data Engineer
Job Summary
Leading the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time AWS Data Engineer will implement a scalable AWS data architecture, optimize query performance, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop effective data models, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and execute the migration of XML object store data from MSSQL to AWS, ensuring optimal storage formats and query performance
- Design and build a reporting layer that enables non-technical users to run SQL queries against healthcare data
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and apply Infrastructure as Code practices using AWS-native tools
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
- Proven experience in cloud data platform migrations within enterprise or healthcare environments
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, and Redshift
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to design relational query layers over semi-structured or non-relational data
