AWS Data Engineer
Job Summary
Leading the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time AWS Data Engineer will implement a scalable, cloud-native AWS architecture, optimize data storage and query performance, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into effective data models, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and implement the migration of XML object store data from MSSQL to AWS, defining storage formats and optimizing query performance
- Design and maintain the reporting and query layer for business stakeholders to run SQL queries against healthcare data
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure seamless data flow and implement CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
- Proven experience in architecting cloud data platform migrations in production environments
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, and Redshift
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Strong SQL skills with experience in handling XML-heavy data stores
