AWS Data Engineer
Job Summary
Leading the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time AWS Data Engineer will implement a scalable, cloud-native AWS architecture, optimize query performance, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into effective data models in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and execute the migration of XML object store data from MSSQL to AWS, defining storage formats and optimizing query performance
- Design and build reporting layers for non-technical users, enabling seamless SQL-based queries against healthcare data
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and apply Infrastructure as Code practices for data infrastructure using AWS-native tools
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
- Proven experience in cloud data platform migrations within enterprise or healthcare environments
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, Aurora, and Redshift
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong SQL skills with experience in designing relational query layers over semi-structured or non-relational data
