AWS Engineer

Job Summary

To support sensitive research initiatives, the contract AWS Engineer will design, build, and implement a secure AWS environment while working remotely and collaborating with technical stakeholders to ensure compliance with architectural and security requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deploy a secure AWS-based environment for research activities, adhering to defined security requirements
• Develop and maintain infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies, leveraging tools like Terraform and CloudFormation
• Implement end-user computing solutions and establish role-based access controls to ensure secure access to applications and datasets

Required qualifications

• Demonstrated experience designing and supporting complex AWS environments within enterprise organizations
• Hands-on expertise with AWS services such as Amazon WorkSpaces, AppStream 2.0, EC2, and S3
• Experience developing Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform and CloudFormation
• Strong understanding of IAM Identity Center, SAML 2.0, OIDC, and least-privilege principles
• Knowledge of AWS security and monitoring services, including GuardDuty and CloudTrail
