AWS Migration Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced AWS Migration Engineer, the hybrid role will manage large-scale migrations from on-premises VMware environments to AWS, focusing on assessment, planning, execution, and post-migration stabilization.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess existing VMware environments and identify migration candidates while documenting dependencies and schedules
- Plan and execute migrations of VMware workloads to AWS, collaborating with cross-functional teams to minimize business disruption
- Design and configure AWS cloud infrastructure components, automating deployment processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience supporting VMware infrastructure environments
- 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing AWS cloud solutions
- Proven experience leading VMware-to-AWS migration projects and using AWS Application Migration Service (MGN)
- Strong scripting and automation skills with tools such as PowerShell, Python, and Terraform
