AWS Security Engineer

Job Summary

To ensure the security of AWS cloud infrastructure, the remote contract AWS Security Engineer will design, implement, and manage security controls, monitor for vulnerabilities, and respond to security incidents while collaborating with cloud engineering and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls for AWS cloud infrastructure
• Monitor for vulnerabilities and respond to security incidents
• Collaborate with cloud engineering and operations teams to enhance security measures

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in cloud security, specifically in AWS environments
• Proficiency with AWS security services such as IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, Config, and Security Hub
• Experience implementing network security controls including VPCs and security groups
• AWS security certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security - Specialty) are highly desirable
