AWS Security Engineer

Job Summary

To support cloud security initiatives, the part-time AWS Security Engineer will implement and maintain secure access controls, harden cloud infrastructure, and automate security operations across AWS environments while working remotely on a contract basis.

Key responsibilities:

• Configure and maintain AWS IAM roles, policies, and permission boundaries to enforce least-privilege access controls
• Harden Amazon EC2 instances and implement patching, vulnerability remediation, and compliance processes using AWS Systems Manager
• Develop scripts to automate access provisioning, security checks, and integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines

Required qualifications:

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience administering and securing AWS cloud environments
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
• Strong understanding of AWS IAM concepts and experience with AWS Systems Manager
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language, such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation
