AWS Security Engineer III

Job Summary

AWS Security Engineer III is a full-time, hands-on position responsible for designing, implementing, and managing security controls in AWS and Kubernetes environments while operating independently with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and enforce cloud security engineering standards and configurations for AWS and Kubernetes environments
• Integrate secure SDLC practices and governance into application development processes
• Manage security engineering deliverables and collaborate with compliance teams to ensure adherence to HIPAA requirements

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in security engineering, cloud infrastructure, or related roles
• Strong expertise in AWS IAM, Kubernetes security, and cloud governance
• Experience implementing security controls in regulated environments, particularly HIPAA
• Hands-on experience with automation tools and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field preferred
