Azure Cybersecurity Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a hands-on Azure Cybersecurity Engineer for a remote contract role focused on cloud security engineering, monitoring, hardening, vulnerability remediation, and compliance support within FedRAMP High and FISMA High environments, requiring 5-7 years of cybersecurity experience and strong Azure security expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Configure and maintain Microsoft Sentinel environments, developing and deploying analytics rules using KQL for threat detection
• Monitor security posture with Microsoft Defender for Cloud, implementing CIS Benchmarks and STIG configurations across Azure workloads
• Collaborate within an Agile/Scrum team to integrate security tooling and perform vulnerability management across Azure resources

Required qualifications

• 5-7 years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with a focus on cloud security engineering and vulnerability management
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure security, Microsoft Sentinel, and Data Collection Rules (DCRs)
• Experience configuring Log Analytics Workspaces and Azure Monitor Agent (AMA)
• Familiarity with FedRAMP or FISMA assessments and compliance requirements
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
