Azure Data Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking a fully remote Senior Azure Data Engineer, this position will design, build, and support a next-generation enterprise data platform on Microsoft Azure, focusing on developing scalable data pipelines and data products for analytics and operational reporting.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop reusable ingestion and transformation pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric Data Factory
- Implement dimensional data models and optimize SQL workloads in Azure Synapse and Fabric environments
- Lead cloud modernization initiatives, including migrations from on-premises data solutions to Azure platforms
Required qualifications
- Deep hands-on expertise with Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks, including PySpark
- Production experience with Azure Synapse Analytics and Microsoft Fabric
- Strong understanding of Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 and associated security and governance practices
- Advanced SQL skills for query optimization and performance tuning
- Proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks, including REST API integration and unit testing
