Azure Data Engineer
Job Summary
To support data engineering initiatives, the full-time contract Azure Data Engineer will build and maintain data pipelines in Azure Data Factory and perform data modeling in Azure Synapse Analytics, working remotely from New York, NY.
Key responsibilities:
- Build and support data pipelines in Azure Data Factory and transformations in Azure Synapse Analytics
- Implement data models from established datasets, ensuring data integrity and quality through validation and reconciliation processes
- Ingest data from legacy SAP platforms into the Azure data lake, documenting business rules and metadata
Required qualifications:
- 2-5 years of technical experience in data engineering or related development roles
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse Analytics
- Familiarity with data modeling techniques such as star schemas and slowly changing dimensions (SCD)
- Basic understanding of SAP BW concepts and extraction mechanisms
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and analysis
