Backend Developer Consultant

Job Summary

To support enterprise clients in building durable systems, the full-time Backend Developer Consultant will design and implement Java services, Temporal workflows, and Kafka-based event pipelines while operating Kubernetes-native infrastructure remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Build and implement Java services, Temporal workflows, and Kafka-based event streaming systems
• Lead large-scale modernization efforts, ensuring safety and minimal disruption during migrations
• Consult with clients to develop outcome-driven applications and platforms, addressing potential challenges

Required qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of Java and the JVM ecosystem, with experience in additional backend languages preferred
• Hands-on experience with Temporal or similar workflow engines, including workflow modeling and failure handling
• Experience designing and operating Kafka-based event streaming systems
• Deep AWS experience with architecting and deploying production systems
• Solid Kubernetes experience in deploying and debugging production workloads
