Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a skilled full-time Backend Engineer focused on identity management, this remote position will develop Tailscale's product, contribute to open-source code, and collaborate with UX/UI designers and product managers to enhance features related to identity and access management.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and document core software components as part of the engineering team
• Develop product features related to the control plane, platform, and identity services
• Exhibit ownership over running services, ensuring observability and participating in incident response

Required Qualifications

• Familiarity with authentication/authorization protocols such as OAuth2, OIDC, SSO, and SAML
• Experience with distributed systems and building secure, scalable services
• Proficiency in Go programming language is a plus
• Experience with one or more SQL databases
• Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic nature of a startup environment
