Backend Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for an L2 Backend Engineer to develop and maintain critical backend systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Own 1 to 2 critical backend systems or services related to pricing, transaction orchestration, or reconciliation
• Design APIs and data models that handle retries, partial failures, and concurrency
• Implement monitoring and alerting to ensure systems are production grade and reduce operational risk

Required Qualifications

• 3 to 8 years of experience building backend systems in production environments
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and backend engineering
• Experience designing APIs and working with relational databases
• Hands-on experience handling failures, retries, and concurrency
• Proven ownership of systems beyond initial development
